How to Reconcile a Customer Balance

Author: TEONPublished: September 30, 20261 min read

A reconciliation asks whether the balance on a given date is the same in both sides’ records. When it differs, there is usually an invoice that never reached one side, a payment posted to the wrong account or a date difference. Found before the year is closed, it is settled with one phone call.

In TEON the Reconciliation screen under Contacts > Movements lists the reconciliations of every customer. Tabs for Waiting, Confirmed, Rejected and Difference show which ones still need an answer. Find the customer and start a new reconciliation to open that customer’s screen.

A reconciliation is prepared as Excel or PDF. The PDF letter carries your logo, the company and customer details, the lines, the balance and a signature box, with your IBAN and footer note at the bottom. The e-mail goes out from the company account set in the general settings, with the letter attached. If no account is set, sending stops and takes you to the settings.
