In a restaurant serving late into the night, service continues even after the calendar date changes. If the system closes the day automatically at midnight, a bill paid just after midnight gets posted to the next day’s turnover, and that evening’s real total ends up split in two.
That is why the day should close at an hour the business sets itself, not at 00:00. In TEON Restoran this hour is a setting; if the day’s end is set to 05:00, for example, every bill closed after midnight and before 05:00 keeps posting to the previous day’s turnover.
The practical result is that you can read the end-of-day report every morning with the same confidence, because that evening really was gathered into a single day. Turnover, complimentary items and discounts per waiter are worked out the same way, against the real business day.
