The way to find a customer on the delivery screen used to be the phone number: you typed the number and the customer and their addresses came up. Now you do not even have to type it. The app installed on the restaurant’s order phone captures the incoming call and drops the number onto the strip at the top of the delivery screen.
Tap the call on the strip and, if it is a known customer, their addresses open; if it is a new number, the customer card opens with that number already filled in. How many calls stay on the strip and after how many minutes a call drops off are both settings.
The phone and the program are paired with a QR code and a one time code, and because each device has its own token, a lost phone can be disconnected on its own. Incoming calls are also listed on the Call Log screen, and how many days those records are kept is again a setting.
